There are many possibilities to get accommodation at university residences and schools. Some of them offer scholarships, with the support of private foundations.

The College "Alma Mater" was opened in September 1998 by the CEUR Foundation and is part of the university world as a College of Excellence, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, University and Research.
It houses male and female students selected on merit, taking into account criteria of income.
Activities to facilitate contact with the world of work and research orientation before the major social problems, and further development of culturally relevant topics, are proposed through the direction of the Board, supported by a scientific committee appointed by the Rector of the University.
A tutoring service is always offered to guests during the academic year, to develop the personal characteristics of students, and stimulate and encourage an active involvement in the conduct and management of the College.

The Collegio Superiore is an institution of excellence of the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna Aimed at gifted and motivated students to enter advanced training routes in Interdisciplinary Curricular Path Integrity of their faculty.
Access to and stay at the Higher College are based solely on merit, equal opportunities, and require the maintenance of academic excellence in both the curricular studies and in those organized by the college itself.
The Activities of the College are supported by the University of Bologna and Numerous public and private funding.

Located in the center of Bologna, is a male college, it has 22 seats and functional structures of university life: study rooms, multimedia room, library, and space for relaxation.
The College offers a full range of services and is characterized by its care and cleaning services.
Each day of the week breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner, are prepared and provided by staff. Special dietary requests can be justified on health. A bag lunch or dinner, consisting of sandwiches and drinks, can be provided on request.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily.
The cleaning services, kitchen and laundry facilities are provided by staff.
For the application you should contact the college between March and April of each year.
You log on after passing a written test and an interview.

The Residence is located in the heart of the city and it is open all year except during the Christmas period and the month of August.
It has 31 rooms (17 singles, 12 doubles, and 2 triples) all with access to a bathroom, a telephone, and an Internet connection.
It also has a meeting room, television room, an annex in S. Vitale with 14 seats and a flat for long hours in Via San Petronio Vecchio.
