NEWS!!! LOOKING FOR FAMILIES FOR A CULTURAL EXCHANGE. Freeform Productions, a production company for the British television, wants to realise a new series of documentaries about cultural exchanges, to be broadcast on Channel Five. The cultural exchange will involve the whole family and the production is looking for candidates in Emilia Romagna. The two families, an Italian one and an English one, will live together for some time, first in Italy then in England. The English family will spend 4 days at an Italian family's. During these days, the Italian family will play the guide, to permit the English guest family to discover the cultural and touristic treasures of its region, and its own everyday reality at the same time. Soon after, the two families will move together to Great Britain where the second part of the exchange will take place. The whole experience will be shot for the documentary film that will be broadcast on the British public television on January 2005. Here's the identikit of the ideal canditate family: the parents should speak English quite well; there must be at least one kid, and at least 10 years old; the whole family must be Italian. The exchange will be shot between August 27th and September 4th. Apart from being an interesting chance for the selected families, the project represents a big occasion for some millions British spectators to get to know our city reality... Flashgiovani would like to create an international network of information for youth on the web. With the help of the European Union and other international institutions, there are some very interesting public programs to be accessed, but getting to know one another first is fundamental…
In the section "International exchange programmes", you will find all the international activities managed by the Bologna City Council, Youth Policy and International Exchange Bureau.
INTERNATIONAL WORK CAMPS: A work camp is a voluntary experience during which you will realise activities to support social and community services, culture, environment and solidarity projects. It can be the interesting chance to make new relationships, commit in a concrete activities, know new lands and cultures.
What to do? If you want to leave this summer, it is necessary to contact as soon as you can on of the associations who organise the work camps, in order to face all the bureaucratic aspects of the travel. You must be up-to-date with your passport (many extra-UE countries also ask for a visa) and vaccinations (some are obligatory, some facultative). Also, obligatory formation lectures are quite often planned in the previous months: a series of meetings with organisers and expert volunteers who are at the willing to leave groups' disposal. Usually, the travel is at your expense, while a fixed participation quote is required for board and lodging.
Who can participate? Work camps mostly address young people from 18 to 26.
